About Me

Morgan Desai, LMFTA (she/her)

Hi! I'm Morgan, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate working with individuals, couples, and families across Washington State. I work with adult clients (aged 18+) who are seeking support with topics such as ADHD, life transitions, anxiety, depression, pregnancy & postpartum, couple's challenges, and adult child/parent relationships. Utilizing an integrative and collaborative approach, I strive to create a  space where clients can work towards a greater understanding of themselves and achieve their goals.

Below you will find more information about my approach and background. Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions!

My Background

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, making me a Midwestern transplant in Seattle. I've lived in the Seattle area for about 6 years, but Skyline Chili and Graeter's ice cream will always have my heart!

I received my dual BAs in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Rochester and completed my MA in Couples and Family Therapy at Antioch University Seattle. I've also completed Level 1 and 2 training with The Gottman Institute and hold a certificate in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

When I first moved to Seattle, I worked as a paralegal at a small immigration law firm downtown. Later, I transitioned into nannying while pursuing my master’s degree. During my clinical training, I interned at Youth Eastside Services in both Redmond and Bellevue. Across these roles, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse communities and supporting individuals and families through significant emotional transitions and life challenges. It’s an honor to continue that work today in my private practice.

Outside of my professional life, I’m just a person. I go to therapy, indulge in bad reality TV, and, like many people with ADHD, I rotate through hobbies on a regular basis. Lately, crocheting has been my go-to, but I’m always up for trying a new craft. I also enjoy reading, exploring local comedy shows, and traveling with my husband.

My Approach

I approach therapy through a systemic lens, grounded in the belief that understanding your present and moving toward the future often begins with curiosity about your past and the systems that shape your life.

Throughout working with clients, I strive to create a judgment-free space where clients can show up exactly as they are and feel safe to express their most authentic selves. I view therapy as a collaborative process where we work together to define meaningful goals and check in regularly to ensure clients continue to feel heard, supported, and empowered.

I believe in the inherent strength and resilience of every person. When people are equipped with the right tools and supported in a space that fosters growth, they can create powerful change in their lives. To support this, I take an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of modalities including the Gottman Method, Attachment-Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. This allows me to tailor each therapy experience to meet the unique needs and goals of the individual, couple, or family I’m working with.

Ultimately, my goal is to offer a safe, confidential, and empowering environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their challenges and moving toward the most fulfilling version of themselves.
